The collection by Alexander McQueen was presented during Paris Fashion Week in 2006. It revisited his Scottish roots, reworking ideas from his early “Highland Rape” show into a more refined and poetic vision, where the original rawness was transformed into a romantic narrative.
The designs featured tartan crinolines with Victorian influences, elaborate headdresses made of feathers, lace, and antlers, and rich fabrics reminiscent of ancient tapestries. Some looks evoked Pre-Raphaelite imagery, while others introduced a stronger, almost punk attitude.
Alongside these theatrical elements, McQueen also presented sharp tailoring and structured coats. The collection stood out for its craftsmanship and storytelling, confirming his ability to merge historical references with modern fashion in a powerful and memorable way.
